Terms and Conditions (“Terms”)

Please read this page (“Disclaimer”, “Terms”, “Terms and Conditions”) carefully before using the https://risupress.com website (the “Service”) operated by Risu Press (“us”, “we”, or “our”).
Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users and others who access or use the Service.
By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not access the Service.
Accounts
When you create an account with us, you must provide us information that is accurate and complete – we need to be able to send you emails regarding your account, and it generally helps us ensure we can deliver any of your purchases without error. Failure to do so may result in deliveries being delayed, canceled, or missed. Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for any extra shipping costs due to errors of omission or mistakes on the user’s side.
You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password, whether your password is with our Service or a third-party service.
You agree not to disclose your password to any third party. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.
Warranties and Liabilities
In ordering a product or download from our site, we assume no liability for any damage incurred during shipping, nor any costs not explicitly stated with regards to customs or other importation fees. We send each item out in perfect condition, in the best packaging possible. If you have a problem with our product, or it arrives otherwise in non-perfect condition, please contact us and we will see what we can do to rectify the situation.
Your use of our products does not guarantee or imply fluency in Japanese or any other language. That is up to you to study – our products are meant to assist in that process. Studying a language is like pushups. You don’t get fit from just “talking” about doing pushups…”
We cannot and do not take responsibility for your level of success when using our products or courses! We have no connection to JLPT officially, and they reserve the right to change or amend any aspect of the test at any time. We do not take responsibility for the accuracy of our product or course materials as they pertain to JLPT standards, although we do our best to ensure our products and offerings are as accurate as possible.
Links To Other Web Sites
Our Service may contain links to third-party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by Risu Press.
Risu Press has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party web sites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that Risu Press shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such web sites or services.
We strongly advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party web sites or services that you visit.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. We don’t want to, but we will if need be. Play nice in the comments; don’t harass, swear, denounce, bully, or generally be mean in the comments or elsewhere on the site.
All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Service.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Alberta, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service, and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have between us regarding the Service.
Changes
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.
Affiliate Registration
To register as an affiliate you must have made a successful purchase of a Risu Press product.
We review and moderate all affiliate registrations, and we appreciate your accurate and honest information. Please note that the review process may take a few days – we know you are eager to join our team of affiliates, and we appreciate your patience!
If you’re approved, awesome! You’ll be given a unique referral ID that you can use to promote Risu Press via referral links. Check out your private Affiliate Area for visits and referrals information.
Commissions and payouts
You’ll be able to earn up to 30% commission when a customer purchases a Risu Press product using your referral link.
We pay out affiliate commissions in USD via PayPal at the beginning of each month. The minimum payout balance is $50.00, so you receive a decent chunk of cash when payouts come around. And there’s no maximum payout balance, so go nuts!
In order to receive a payout for your referrals, you must register with a valid PayPal registered email. If you have questions about this, contact us.
We do not allow referrals to be generated on your own purchases. We do not offer recurring referrals.
Referral cookie lifetime
When a potential customer clicks on your referral link, a cookie is stored in their browser to track your referral. The cookie is then stored for a generous 30 days to give your referred customers time to decide if they wish to purchase a Risu Press product, or ask us any pre-sale questions they may have.
A referral won’t be awarded if:
- The customer uses a different browser to purchase than the one they originally used to visit our site (because the cookie does not exist in that browser)
- The customer purchases after 30 days (because the cookie will expire).
Refunded purchases
Referrals older than 30 days and in good standing (i.e. the purchase has not been refunded) will be included with each commission payout (if the commission balance totals $50.00 or over). If a purchase is refunded, a commission won’t be paid out for that referral.
We reserve the right to reject affiliate commissions for any reason. Commission rejections may occur for the following reasons:
- The sale that the referral was based on was refunded
- The method by which the referral was generated was in violation of our promotional policies (see below) or violated the spirit of the Affiliate Agreement.
Affiliate news and updates
By becoming an affiliate you agree to receive emails from Risu Press. These emails will be sent to affiliates only, on an ad-hoc basis, and may include important information regarding the Risu Press affiliate program. These emails will also provide you with relevant news and updates to help you effectively promote Risu Press. As an affiliate you may be privy to embargoed or time-sensitive information in these emails (this information may only be promoted after an embargo is lifted). And we won’t spam you, ever – promise!
Affiliate application rejection
We reserve the right to reject affiliate applications for any reason. We also reserve the right to choose whether we provide an explanation or reasoning for affiliate application rejection. Below are just a few reasons why an application may be rejected (this is not an exhaustive list):
- Affiliate applications for websites that sell, advertise or engage in pornography, phishing scams, spamming, illegal business practices, or that include any material infringing on National or International Copyright will be rejected.
- Affiliate applications for websites that we do not believe are aligned with our industry or business may be rejected.
- If you apply to become an affiliate and you have not purchased a product from us, your application may be rejected.
- If you apply to become an affiliate and it has been less than 30 days since you purchased a product, your application may be rejected.
- Affiliate applicants with websites that re-sell any of our products will be rejected.
- Websites considered inappropriate by Risu Press will be rejected.
Inappropriate websites:
The following types of sites are not permitted to become an affiliate: adult sites, sites that display adult material or banners, sites that promote violence, hatred or bigotry, sites that promote or engage in illegal activity, including (but not limited to), hacking, cracking, nulled, and warez sites. Affiliate applications for inappropriate websites will be rejected, and we reserve the right to choose whether or not to provide a rejection reason.
Questions regarding your application
When you apply to become an affiliate we may email you at the email address you have supplied with some questions regarding your application. This may be because:
- We didn’t understand something in your application, or,
- We’d like to learn a bit more about how you will promote Risu Press and need a little more detail.
If we reach out to you and we haven’t heard back within 7 days, your application may be rejected. If your initial application is rejected, you are welcome to reapply to become an affiliate and provide us with more detail for reconsideration.
Dormant affiliate accounts
Please don’t leave us! We encourage all of our affiliates to actively promote Risu Press to keep earning referrals. If we can help you come up with ideas on how to promote Risu Press, please let us know – we’re here for you! An affiliate account is considered dormant if no visits have been generated after a 6-month period. A dormant affiliate account will be temporarily deactivated if no visits have been generated after 6 months. But we don’t even want to go there right now, right?! Let’s work together to help you start earning some cash!
